Sky Mountain

During the summer I went to Idaho with my dad and we got to spend a whole week on this ranch. It was the coolest thing ever. We got to milk goats, move pipe, ride horses, kaiak on the Grand Teton and do lots of service. We also got to cook meals, have devotionals, and get to know a bunch of other girls and their dads. My dad and I also got to see Vern and Bonnie, go fishing on Grandpa Lloyd's pond and get Fresh Lime Freezes. Something cool was that all you had to do was apply for this camp and if you got accepted then you just showed up. They didn't ask you to pay for like anything except for gas of course. It was such an awesome experience and I sure am glad I got to do it with my dad.
This is Dick and Sue Jacobson, the wonderful owners of sky mountain. They are absolutely amazing!
These are the bunk houses we stayed in. There were 6 girls on one side and 6 dads on the other side. We had some awesome devotionals in this bunk house.

The beautiful Teton Mountains! It doesn't get much better than that!
Our team made a really yummy dinner. We had Mustard Flank Steak, Cheesy Dutch Oven Potatoes, and a yummy salad. It was muy delicioso!
We also had a cooking class. It was way fun! The first day we made gourmet cupcakes which were yummy. The second day we made pie! I absolutely love pie! It was so good!
I got to help put some chicken coop wire up in the goat shed because the chickens kept jumping out the windows and escaping! It was fun and I got to use a drill!
We got to move pipe twice during the week. It was so fun! Then we got sprayed by the sprinklers and I lost my glove so we had to go back and look all up and down the pipeline. It took awhile but we found it eventually!
Speaking of goats, I got to milk a goat too! It was way cool. It felt kinda weird though!

We also got to go collect the chicken eggs. It was hard to find them because the grass was really long. I was also scared of accidentally stepping on them so I was always checking where I put my foot down before I stepped.

With the goat milk we got, we fed it to the pigs along with the leftover scraps from the meals. It was funny to watch the pigs fight over the food!

We got to go paint this really cool old guys house for one of the service projects and while we were there he showed us his Water Witch stick and we all got to try it. It was way cool!

We had a talent show too and I played the piano. One of the dads was super good at balancing things on his nose and chin and he balanced this bench on his chin! It was insane!

There was a roping block shaped like a cow so my dad and I decided to try it out. He got it on like his second try but I on the other hand didn't get it until like my fifth or sixth time!

For one of the classes they built this swing. It was so much fun to swing on. It was really tall too!
They had this pond there and someone from a previous year had built this little boat for it so Kailan Moore and I decided to take it out and her dad, Mark Moore,  came and started throwing rocks and splashing us! We got really wet! But it was tons of fun!

We got to go horseback riding one of the days and it was such a blast! We went on this trail that went throughout the whole property pretty much and we got to ride the calmest, gentlest horses! It was awesome!

We went out a couple of the days and went fishing on Grandpa Lloyd's pond. It was way fun. Then of course on our way back to the ranch we had to stop and get Fresh Lime Freezes! YUMMY!

We also got to run the Grand Teton River! It was freezing cold! But it was loads of fun! We got into this big splashing war and Kailan Moore and I got soaked! We tried to tip over our dads but it didn't really work. They still got way wet though!

While we were running the river we saw this Bald Eagle! It was so cool and it just sat there like the whole time everyone was taking pictures and everything!

As you can see this was a really amazingly fun trip! It was definitely one of my favorites!
